Instrument and game workshop
Instrument and game workshop - In a simple way, instruments are created which can then be used to make music.
Here, participants can build simple wind instruments from plastic pipes, straws and sour cream jars. Regardless of the children's conditions and prior knowledge, we want to give them an experience in a simple and playful way where sound, listening and making music are at the center. Here they get the opportunity to investigate and express sounds with the help of their instruments, while at the same time they get to feel how it feels to create and play music together.
The instrument and game workshop takes its starting point from the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child by being a place where all children, regardless of background, can participate and express themselves through musical creation.
During the instrument and playing workshop, several subjects other than music are touched upon in the students' current and future curriculum. Such as physics (sound theory), mathematics (calculation of pitches), Swedish (practice in expressing oneself and formulating oneself), crafts (building through sawing, cutting, etc.) and visual arts (painting and decorating instruments).
We who lead the workshop are called Johan Svensson, Lina Järnegard and Sara Svensson and we are all three trained composer/musician with long experience of working with children in educational music projects.
