Quilty

Sea shanties, salty notes and a great love for Irish music.
Quilty was formed in 1993 and is one of the leading Irish folk music groups in Sweden.
The group has performed a large number of concerts, primarily in Sweden, but also in Germany and Norway. Over the years, Quilty has created collaborative projects with choirs and symphony orchestras in addition to their regular touring.
The group celebrated its 25th anniversary in 2018 with an extensive anniversary tour throughout the country and the tour premiere at the packed Dieselverkstaden in Stockholm was broadcast live by SR P2.
Quilty was nominated for "Group of the Year" at the the Folk & World Music Gala 2020,
Since the autumn of 2019, Quilty is up to date with their new program "Out on the Ocean"; Sea shanties, songs of emigration, love ballads and tales of epic adventures at sea provide the flavour for this salty and tar scented concert combining Irish and Scottish songs and tunes with the Atlantic Ocean as a backdrop. The programme is underpinned by Quilty's well-known trademark of musical virtuosity, distinct arrangements and sonorous harmonies with everything from foot-tapping reels, jigs and hornpipes to romantic ballads and jovial humour.
Quilty has released four albums, the fifth - Out on the Ocean was released on July 1, 2022 in conjunction with the tour. In March 2023, Quilty is on tour in Sweden together with Ireland's biggest folk and world music icons - Andy Irvine!
