Sinikka Thörn & Per Johansson

An exciting duo with compositions by Sinikka and where the lyrics are at the center together with Per's free and heartfelt piano playing.

Sinikka has sung everything from musical theater to experimental vocal music. Songwriting has always been included but perhaps more as a pastime. Since a couple of years ago, writing has taken up more and more space. She has also been running the Sinikka Thörn Band for a couple of years now.

Per is one of the jam hosts at Playhouse on Nefertiti and has over the years played everything from both revues to world music. Per also sometimes plays with Bohuslän Big Band and is also hired as conductor and arranger at e.g. TV.

The music is marked and inspired by the music Sinikka grew up with and loves. Jazz. Visor. Pop. And a bit of folk music. The improvisation is a natural and unsearched element where Per in a sensitive way conveys the mood in the music and the text.

In October 2016, a first EP was released: "The Journey"
