Restart me
Project duration: January 2021 – December 2023.
MCV has completed three rounds of a mentoring program for musicians with support from the Cultural Council between the years 2021-2023. The mentoring programs focused on various aspects of musicians' and artists' professional development, including presentation and marketing skills, booking work and international career development. Through meetings with mentors and participation in webinars, musicians, artists and bandleaders were offered the opportunity to improve their export readiness and international launch of their music. The program involved 15 acts from various Musikcentrum associations and also included national (in Germany) and international showcases (in Gothenburg, Stockholm and Malmö). Participating mentors consisted of experienced professionals in the cultural sector.

Music at the Theater
Project duration: January 2021 – February 2023.
In a close collaboration between Musikcentrum Väst, Riksteatern Väst, Västra Folkets hus and the park region and ABF Västra Götaland, we made a joint effort to restart cultural life within the Västra Götaland region. We wanted to restart live concerts after the pandemic, build long-term collaborations and broaden audience groups. We held 30 concerts in autumn 2021, spring/autumn 2022 and spring 2023, with the support of the Västra Götaland region.

More Music For More
Project time: January 2022 – December 2022.
With our large network of live music clients - both public and private - as well as our habit of producing concert activities in collaboration with others, we worked during 2022 in an organic and methodical way to increase the number of bookings in the region - nursing homes, cultural centers, associations, companies, workplaces or schools – with the help of extended project support from the region.
We created more than 170 jobs for MCV's musicians/artists.

Wings, are they there?
Project time: January 2015 – May 2019.
In the project "Wings, do they exist?" we focused on developing the anchoring work after the implementation of the wing mapping in Västra Götaland. We had collected about two hundred grand pianos from forty-nine municipalities. The continuation of the project involved continuing the dialogue with grand piano hosts and organizing concerts with freelance pianists to inspire grand piano managers to create arrangements for live music. We strove to give the grand pianos a place in context at odd venues within the Västra Götaland region where they could meet audiences. We prioritized grand pianos that were somewhat forgotten or underutilized, but also those that were in use and where there was interest in conservation and restoration. The project provided jobs for 77 musicians.

Concert films
Project duration: 2021-2022
During the pandemic, MCV has invested in recording live concerts for members. These recordings have been much appreciated because recordings of concerts are often both expensive and time-consuming to produce on your own. On several occasions, we have been able to provide resources to hire recording technicians, videographers and well-equipped venues at Musikens Hus in Gothenburg, where we operate. We believe that this investment is very valuable both for the artists and their endeavor to reach out to new audiences, to get more job opportunities and to spread their music. We recorded a total of 40 concert films during the pandemic.

Musician for Ukraine
On April 5, 2022, together with Musikens Hus, we arranged a support gala under the name "Musicians for Ukraine". The evening featured live music, conversation and was a place of community and solidarity for Ukraine. The goal of the event was to raise money for UNHCR and their work in supporting the people fleeing the war in Ukraine. The entrance fee was SEK 150 and the money went directly to UNHCR. For those unable to attend on site, the entire event was live streamed for guests who attended digitally. The gala raised SEK 40.000 for UNHCR.
