Gothenburg Jazz Orchestra feat. Anna Lundqvist - "With female signs", 20 APRIL at 17.00, THE HEBET THEATER

We are proud to be able to present a new concert with fine big band music written by women, hence the subtitle "With female characters". We will hear swinging as well as fine-tuned music by greats such as Maria Schneider, Monica Dominique, Anna Lundqvist, Toshiko Akiyoshi and Klara Lannsjö performed by one of Sweden's best big bands, the Gothenburg Jazz Orchestra, together with Anna Lundqvist as a soloist who also talks about her composition!

ANNA LUNDQVIST is a dear return visit! Acclaimed singer and composer and one of the strong driving forces of Swedish jazz.
She has released five critically acclaimed albums as well as a sheet music book of her own compositions. The latest record MEWE (Anna Lundqvist Quintet) was nominated for the Manifest Gala in the Jazz of the Year category and was praised in foreign press and media. For a few years now, she has also been active as a musician and guest lecturer in Lisbon.

GÖTEBORG JAZZ ORCHESTRA is one of the most exciting bands in Swedish jazz right now. The big band filled, in a concert series, the new fine stage "Draken" in Gothenburg during the autumn and has had a meteoric career and in a short time established itself at the highest level. In their love for music and jazz, they eagerly seek new expressions, attract collaborations with the best nationally and internationally, and happily flirt across genre boundaries and with new formats.
