Wave play

With roots firmly in the West Gothic song treasure, the violin duo plays both self-written melodies and in tradition.

Alice Klint and Kristin Kennemark grew up on the Västgötaslätten, on the same street and with the same expectations of life. Swedish folk music was the starting point for a lifelong friendship and a musical collaboration: Vågspel.

In 2015, they won the Young Folk Music Band of the Year at Folkmusiknatta in Falun and have since played on the biggest folk music stages in Sweden, such as Stallet, Malmö Folk, Umefolk, Norrköping folk music festival, Bingsjö and Delsbostämman. Vågspel's debut album was released in 2017 and the following year the duo was crowned Newcomer of the Year at the Folk and World Music Gala in Norrköping. In the spring of 2022, Vågspel was appointed Ensemble in Residence at Musik i Syd. In August 2022, their second album I nöd och lust was released.
Klint and Kennemark each have a bachelor's degree in classical music, which contributed to the duo's high technical level and created a freedom in both violin playing and composing.
