The Gothenburg Combo

The Gothenburg Combo

Colorful duo with bass in the Spanish guitar and the whole world as a stage.

The Gothenburg Combo consists of guitarists David Hansson and Thomas Hansy. Since their inception in 2000, they have released seven acclaimed albums and toured South America, North America, Asia, Europe, Australia and New Zealand. With the bass in the Spanish guitar, they take the listener on a colorful odyssey from Cuba to China, from Bach to the Beach Boys.

The sounding library

- We have asked no less than 34 Swedish musicians and composers to create unique pieces of music for us, inspired by their personal favorite books! Among the participants are prominent names such as Georg Riedel, Loney Dear, Lena Willemark, Lina Nyberg, Janne Schaffer, Rebecka Törnqvist and Ulf Dageby, who have all created specially written music exclusively for this project!

How does Korparna by Tomas Bannerhed sound in tones. Or Lord of the Rings by JRR Tolkien? How does the classic adventure novel A World Voyage under the Sea sound? And how do Karin Boye's, Edith Södergran's and Selma Lagerlöf's texts sound when translated into the language of music? The answers are given in "The Loud Library" with The Gothenburg Combo!

"Tenderness and finesse, fingertip feeling and perfection. But also humor and joie de vivre, virtuosity and sheer joy of playing... The Gothenburg Combo plays classical music with a pop attitude, they radiate an irresistible life-affirming playfulness and with these qualities belong to the world's leading guitar duo."
West German General Newspaper

"A concert with The Gothenburg Combo provides an enchanting musical experience. One should be careful with the use of the word magic in the context of art. But here it must ban me.”
