Shtoltse suffers
Text and music with inspiration from Yiddish folk singing, klezmer, art music, cabaret and Nordic tones.
Shtoltse lider offers newly composed settings for Yiddish-language poets. All women, active during the first part of the 1900th century; a time when Yiddish culture flourished. Words and music have been carefully interwoven and the musical inspiration is drawn from several sources – Yiddish folk singing, klezmer, art music, cabaret and even some Nordic tones.
Singing in Yiddish, reading poetry in Swedish and engaged storytelling will be the concert Shtoltse lider, with Ida Gillner and Livet Nord in heartfelt, playful and dynamic interaction with each other.
