A feverishly quivering voice tells an urgent truth. Three instruments dance on a tightrope between virtuosity and weathering.

For two years, Mumriq has been seen on stages in the Nordics, where they have built a distinctive world of sound and lyrics. In the spirit of Nick Cave and Captain Beefheart, they explore the meeting of jazz with alternative rock, free jazz and art music. With a large dynamic range, they navigate between the tender whisper and the desperate scream, where the heartfelt encounter with the audience is always at the center.

Mumriq is a Gothenburg-based band that has been praised by, among others, STIM and has been seen at festivals such as the Copenhagen Jazz Festival and Ääniä-festivali. On May 4, 2024, the debut EP MUMRIQ will be released through Varva Records.
