Karl Peter is the baritone with both a silky smooth and powerful voice that enchants the audience with his obvious stage presence.
Alice is awake at night and worries about the rising climate threat. Dante is homeless and thinks mostly about how to raise money for shelter and food. But life coach Ewa has the solution to all their problems. Or?
Akvarium is a newly written chamber opera in Swedish in an act created by the linguistically explosive poet Naima Chahboun, the highly current composer Roger Assar Johansson, the socially engaged director Gunilla Johansson and the norm-creative vocal trio Man Must Sing. It is about individual solutions to structural problems, about a bath in the aquarium of the Marine Biology Research Center, and about daring to be confronted with the dark sides of life. The title is inspired by the acclaimed "Idea list of pleasurable activities" used in Swedish psychiatry. Here is a list of different activities that will get acutely depressed people in a better mood. Item 137 on the list reads: "Caring for an aquarium."
