Celtic Duo

Music taken from the rich Celtic tradition of Ireland, Scotland and Wales; fiery jigs, reels, lyrically melancholic melodies and songs.
The repertoire also includes early music from Scotland and Ireland - mainly from the 1600th century onwards - performed in folk music. In addition to "pure" traditional folk music, the Celtic Duo also highlights music by composers such as Turlough O'Carolan (1670-1738), whose posterity music is usually categorized as folk music but which was in fact influenced by both their own contemporary classical music and older Celtic musical tradition. The Celtic Duo's arrangements are playful and imaginative with a strong emphasis on improvisation, but always with great respect for the music's roots and origins.
Members Billy Jones and Jonas Liljeström are veterans of Gothenburg's music scene and have performed together for more than thirty years.
Jonas Liljeström: violin, vocals
