Melody, groove and urban world music.

Zobop takes us to new musical venues. Here there are influences from style icons such as Zappa, Jeff Beck, Bill Frisell or Tony Allen, but basically the songs are fiddler's music for electric guitar, saxophone, bass, beats and drums. The essence of a song, how it orchestrates the beat and what world opens up through the melodies and interplay, is what makes the music on Zobop a place of its own.
"I have always loved how violin players play together in Swedish and Norwegian folk tradition, so many of the tracks on Zobop take their origin from this. Naturally strongly colored by Tapha Ndiongue's drums and Viktor Turegård's bass, but the melodies often have a Scandinavian touch. I like to play when people are dancing, so basically I wanted to focus on rhythm and melody.
