Duo Drougge Karlsson

Duo Drougge Karlsson

Dangerous, beautiful and swinging with duo Drougge / Karlsson on violin and guitar.

Per Drougge (violin) and Jens Karlsson (guitar) have played together since 2001 and over the years have developed the program to include both public concerts, senior activities and lighter programs for, for example, music cafes. The public concerts are under the heading "Dangerous, beautiful and swinging" and contain everything from Bach's music for solo violin, to tangos by Astor Piazzolla. For senior activities and music cafés, they have then picked goodies from the above program and seasoned with some jazz.

JENS KARLSSON was born in Mariestad and studied classical guitar, pedagogy and improvisation at the Norwegian Academy of Music in Oslo. He started the tango duo Tangorama, who did concerts and performances with string orchestra, dancers, actors and visual artists. In 1997 he was Norway's representative at the European Guitar Gala in Ytterjärna. Jens Karlsson teaches guitar, ensemble and music theory in the aesthetic program at Västerhöjdsgymnasiet in Skövde.

PER DROUGGE comes from Kungsbacka and has received his violin education at Edsbergs Musikinstitut and Lisztakademien in Budapest. He has served in several different orchestras, such as the Central Ostrobothnia Chamber Orchestra in Kokkola, the Helsinki National Opera and as the 2nd concertmaster in the Norrköping Symphony Orchestra. In 1997 he started working entirely on a freelance basis as a chamber musician and since 2000 is also a member of the folk music group Kesergö.
