Dina Grundberg

Dina Grundberg

Jazz with storytelling singing.

Singer and songwriter Dina Grundberg has established herself as a strong voice on the Swedish jazz scene. She tours extensively throughout Sweden and has also arranged music for big bands and performed her songs with the Bohuslän Big Band. This spring she released the follow-up Nasty oversensitive, which was praised by critics. P2 described her songs as "riveting and self-examining jazz songs".

The music flows between heavy tango, jazz waltz and durable swing. In the lyrics, everyday life takes its place, throwing itself on the floor and screaming. Dina Grundberg is happy! And angry. Worried about her finances. Is she just human, or hideously oversensitive? Now she invites you to a concert in a trio setting where the audience can take part in her own musical landscape, between revue and jazz poetry.

Band members:
Maria Palmqvist – vocals, composition, lyrics (Gothenburg)
Karl-Magnús Andersson – piano (Gothenburg)
Viktor Reuter – bass (Gothenburg)

Other qualifications:

Dina writes her own music and has been compared to both international jazz giants and Swedish profiles such as Barbro Hörberg, Lisa Ekdahl and Hasse & Tage. She arranges her music for different settings and has performed her own big band arrangements with Bohuslän Big Band. Her jazz songs for children's choir are published in the booklet Flyga och falla (musikskolan.se), which was presented at the Gothenburg Book Fair in 2024.

Her debut album "Jag ljuger mest om allt" (Kakafon Records, 2022) was critically acclaimed, and Orkesterjournalen listed the album as one of the year's top releases. With a playful brass section and a swinging accompaniment, her story-telling vocals are enhanced, where everyday images are in focus.

In February 2025, the sequel "Otäckt överkensyl" was released, in which Grundberg further develops his storytelling and allows everyday reflections to take place.
