Anna Lundqvist Quintet

Five brilliant musicians in an interplay and a sound, improvisations and energy!

Quintet that met in Gothenburg and was started in 2005 by the bandleader and the band's composer and singer: Anna Lundqvist. The music can be described as both modern and traditional, as Anna's predilection for the hard bop of the 60's shines through on many levels. At the same time, there is harmony from both contemporary commercial music, folk and song as well as structures from baroque music. Improvisation and interaction, however, are always in focus and there is plenty of joy and energy. The band has released five albums. The latest, critically acclaimed MEWE, had its release on September 1, 2017, which was also awarded a nomination in the category of jazz of the year at the Manifesto Gala 2018!
