Amery Rey Tuesta

Classical guitarist with over 300 works to his name

Amery Rey Tuesta plays classical guitar music, both his own works and compositions by masters such as Francisco Tarrega, Mauro Giuliani, Fernando Sor and Matteo Carcassi and more.

Amery has played with many distinguished musicians, and Raúl García Zárate described his playing as a “jungle orchestra in miniature,” with sounds reminiscent of the nature of the Amazon.

His impressive technique and musicality have been instrumental in the spread of the six-string guitar in the Ucayali region, Pucallpa, Peru, where it competed with the traditional five-string guitar.

As a pioneer, Amery developed unique techniques, such as two-finger domolo and the use of fingernails to create a warmer sound.

With over three hundred works to his name, from studies to guitar concertos, his compositions have achieved great popularity among students and professional musicians alike. His music is influenced by greats such as Domenico Scarlatti and Federico Chopin.
